What does Mercedes, Visa, GM, and TELUS, have in common?
In 2010 photographer/designer David Jones and I teamed-up to produce stock photography pictures for use in magazine articles, advertisements, websites and brochures.
What Mercedes, Visa, GM, and Telus, have in common is that they have all purchased our pictures. This business venture was so successful that over 100,000 images have been sold in 80 countries around the world.
This portfolio demonstrates that a successful marketing strategy is based on discovering the needs of your target market and meeting those needs better than your competition.
Prior to the first picture being taken, we asked “who is the target market for these pictures?” What needs do they have? And, how will these images be used? We researched the stock photography industry and identified gaps in picture categories. This research enabled us to develop a focused market entry strategy that has proven to be successful.
